Reward Program

Slicethepie Review : Is Legit or Scam? 2024

Slicethepie pays you to write reviews on new songs, fashion items, accessories and commercials before they are released. Your reviews go directly to unsigned artists/fashion designers etc. to give them feedback. You also help them to find the best brands and artists to put forward for radio placement and other opportunities.

Slicethepie is a legit reward program. It is not a scam because we have witnessed its payments to a lot of users. They will never steal your money and that is why have been online for a very long time without a problem.

Slicethepie launched back in 2007 as a fun and interactive website to identify the best up and coming artists. Slicethepie rapidly evolved into the web’s largest music review engine that now provides on demand feedback to most of the major US record labels and thousands of independent artists every month.

In 2015 additional review categories were added, including fashion, mobile phone accessories and others.
All the ratings and reviews left by our reviewers are used to provide real time predictive insight to music executives, designers, buyers and merchandisers in large and small organisations to help them decide which products will be most successful.
Slicethepie now has over 2 million reviewers with thousands of new ones signing up every day.
They don’t do vouchers or discounts, Slicethepie only pays real money (via PayPal) to reviewers for each and every review they leave – and anyone can sign up at any time.
The 18 strong, multicultural (7 nationalities) Slicethepie team is based in Reading, UK and Connecticut, New York – and over half of Slicethepie are developers and data scientists. Yes, it’s wild.
They do not have Slicethepie T-Shirts, pins, baseball caps or ‘team-building’ days. But Slicethepie does play a lot of Fussball and ping pong and party together whenever possible. Meet the team on their Instagram page.

Slicethepie complaints and feedback:

  • Ben says:

I have been using it for a while and it’s been good. However, it is picky with the words you use constantly saying “Please be concise”. Also, I had been suspended for repeating too much. But replying to them they unbanned me within one day. So far $30 from this site. I do miss the old 50 cent offers.

  • James says:

Slicethepie is a super easy way to make money. Especially if you enjoy reviewing all music ans fashion products. There’s always something for you to review and if you really enjoy it, it doesn’t even become tedious. It’s also a great way to contribute your opinion towards something. I highly reccomend this website.

  • Hutton says:

They lock your account when you’re almost able to redeem your payment, stating that you’re using a proxy. I thought they were professional, I really liked the idea of the website, their domain name etc., and recommended them to my friends and now I am very disappointed.

  • Gummy says:

very disappointed from slice the pie, after earning $5 they just closed my account, this is not fair. spending so long time, reviewing and giving my opinion, spending my time. It is not correct to close someone’s account without warning or explaining anything. This fair enough for me to understand they are the same scam website, which will be reported by me to be closed. I will spread the word and say all my friends how unfair they were, how can they close without even saying a word.

  • Tobi says:

Keep in mind that 1. I’ve only had my account for two days, and 2. I have tons of practice reviewing music already (10+ years in the band and another year in college-level music appreciation)

Writing the reviews is the easy part, and I flew to 3 stars with no problems whatsoever. Variety and honesty are your friends, and as long as you write legitimate reviews, you should be fine.

That said, an issue I never anticipated has cropped up: I’ve run out of things to review, and for the past two days, I’ve gotten the same message: “Sorry there’s nothing for you to review at the moment. Check back later as new items are uploaded all the time.” It would be a nice message if it were true. I’ll write a followup in a week, but for the time being, this site is legitimate but I can’t break $1.25 because there’s simply not enough things to review.

  • Emma says:

I was a user a while ago and had just recently remembered that I had made an account with Slice the Pie. I went on their site to log in but the account had been deactivated due to lack of use. That’s understandable since it had been a while since I’d last used it. I sent an email to have the account reactivated and they replied the next day saying it was working again but the email needed to be confirmed since they added new security features to the website. Okay, no problem. I go to log in and there is an error saying my email needs to be confirmed, but no directions on how to do so. I emailed again asking what to do and got a response within a few minutes saying they had PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED my account.”I’m afraid it’s been brought to our attention that the quality of English in your reviews isn’t at a very high standard.”
No warning or anything. Now I am unable to take out any money I had earned from the site in the past or continue the use of it at all. And why, after all this time, do they suddenly decide my English isn’t good enough? SCAM. They just don’t want to pay me.

I emailed again apologizing and asking for examples of my supposed poor English. I told them I was not aware that it was even an issue. I told them I expected to receive any money that I had earned. I got no response.

I’ve emailed again explaining my concern and asking for more explanation but so far I haven’t heard back.

  • Anne says:

I honestly wouldn’t advise anyone to get their hopes up with slicethepie in thinking this is a way they will actually earn money. I am a person that enjoys music a lot so I thought it would be fun to review music and get paid on the side for an hour or two a day after I left work. I spent a little over two weeks writing countless reviews earning anywhere from 5 to 8 cents a review. Then I requested a payout, only to receive an email the following morning stating that my account had been closed for violation of the terms and also if I had any more concerns they will get back to me as humans respond to all emails and they have social lives. Having spent all that much time I just felt really disappointed and upset. However, if I can save even one person from my said disappointment then this I will do. This is definitely not an honest website, and those who say otherwise are probably trying to get you to sign as a referral so they can earn a commission from you beware.

  • Benjamin say:

I worked hard on all of these music reviews. I was in the process of moving on to the next review and they randomly shut me out. They have not given me my money owed. I have been doing this for weeks now and have put several hours in and I have only made $6.35 and was getting close to the ten so I could collect my money. They gave me some lame excuse about why I don’t understand because I’m good at what I do. Writing and music is my passion and I am very devoted and good at what I do on the reviews. I have written them to let them know that they owe me money and I will give them a chance to get this corrected as of now. If not corrected they will be reported to the better business bureau. I will let many people know on facebook the scams this company is doing if this is not corrected.

Dubbed says:

My wife has been “Trying” to submit reviews for over a week and has mangaged to amass a whopping $2.20. She conscientously writes the reviews using Key words found in a Word Cloud from one of their sample reports, but then the algorithm will not accept the review because “It has seen this review before” DUH!!! Of course, it has seen it before if you use the Key Words. If you do not use the KEY words the algorithm criticises the content of the review. But the most frustrating thing for her is writing a review and then getting the message “Unable to process this review, please log off and try again” This happens every session!!! SLP is very polite when you contact them, they suggested using another browser, we have tried all the browsers with no change. The problem lies with them, they either, do not want reviews from europe or, they do not want to pay for the reviews because there is no way to prove that they did not actually receive all the reviews my wife has submitted.

  • Maria says:

I have been using slicethepie for a while now. Apart from a few technical hiccups, it is a great site. You get to write reviews on new tracks from new artists and you get paid for doing it. A good way to fill in spare time.

How to earn on Slicethepie

Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be asked to choose which category you’d like to review. If you’ve chosen music: hit the play button and start listening to the track. You can start writing your review straight away, comment on what you liked/disliked, be specific about the aspects of the track (i.e. vocals, instrumental, rhythm, production etc.). Note you’ll need to listen to at least 90 seconds of the track. Once you’ve rated out of ten you can submit. If you’ve chosen to review fashion or mobile: have a look at the pictures and information on the product provided and comment on the design, material, whether you’d buy it etc. Rate the item out of 10 and answer any other questions. Once you’re happy, submit your review, then on to the next one! In order to review you’ll need to have a good internet connection, with a minimum bitrate of 300kbps. Don’t forget you will soon be able to review the Slicethepie app.

How you get paid

According to the site, they pay you to review… They have now had over 10 million reviews submitted and paid out more than $1 million to their reviewers! (This grows by the day though so check the ticker on the homepage for the actual numbers!).

How to earn more

Your payment per review is based on your Star Rating and the quality of your review. You can earn more by submitting detailed, varied and constructive reviews in well-written English. The better your review, the bigger the bonus payment. They are encouraging scouts to leave detailed reviews and will reward them for their time/effort!

Slicethepie operates in dollars no matter where you’re based. Don’t worry though, they claim to have scouts from all over the world who get paid successfully each week! Once you’ve withdrawn money from your Slicethepie account, it can then be converted in PayPal to your currency.

How to invite friends

Send your referral code or link (in the Refer a Friend page when logged in) to your friends, ask them to either enter your code when they register, or they can sign up directly from your link where your code will fill in automatically. You’ll then start receiving bonus payments for every review they submit! Easy as pie!
You will only receive referral bonuses on new users that sign up to Slicethepie with your code.
