What is InstaGC?

InstaGC is a GPT (Get Paid To) site. That is, it pays members when they complete tasks online which include surveys, shopping, watching videos, downloading apps, and more. InstaGC has been operating since 2011, which gives it about 8 years in the industry. It is based in the US and owned by Day Online Solutions LLC, which is a company that has scores of other websites under its wings.

InstaGC is coined from “Instant Gift Cards”; and it advertises as a web resource where you can “receive free gift cards instantly”. It is one of those sites that’ll come up if you are searching for websites to make money online while working from home. InstaGC uses the points system. This means that when you complete activities in the site, it rewards you with points; but you can convert these to cash and other prizes at the rate of 100 points = $1.00. InstaGC advertises that it differs from other GPT sites with its “instant” payment when rewards are redeemed.

Is InstaGC legit?

The fear of being ripped off is strong enough to make people ask the legit question before they use any online platform. With rewards site, there is also the fear of wasting time doing tasks in the website and not getting paid for the effort. Thus, before using any reward site, it is wise to determine whether it is legit.

The short answer to whether InstaGC is legit is YES. The longer answer is that it is operated by a 100% legal company, it has industry-wide recognition, and it has a long operating record of actually paying members for participating in activities in the site.

Our first check of a legit rewards site is usually legality. This is because the sites that are backed by companies that are 100% legal are less likely to be a scam. Thankfully, InstaGC ticks this box. It is owned and operated by Day Online Solutions LLC, which is a 100% legal company with a registered address in Sellersburg, Indiana. Suffice it to say that the scam rewards sites do not get the backing of legal companies.

Another check of a legit rewards site is visibility and industry-wide recognition. This is because the scam platforms operate largely in the shadows. Thankfully, InstaGC ticks this box.  InstaGC is one of the most easily recognizable GPT sites around.

Also, in its Facebook account, it has a Photo Wall showing payment proofs; and this has some 233,711 likes (at the time of writing this review). Suffice it to say that a scam rewards site will not have the amount of support from industry followers and watchers that InstaGC has.

Another check of a legit rewards site is the test of time. This is because scam sites are usually found out with time. Thankfully, InstaGC ticks this box, as it has been operating since 2011. Suffice it to say that a scam store cannot continue ripping people off using the same front for some 8 years.

However, the ultimate check of a legit rewards site is fitness for purpose. This simply means that the site will actually have earning activities for its members; and that members who participate are actually paid. Thankfully, InstaGC also ticks this box. This is because a lot of members have reported being paid. You’ll find payment proofs in both its website and in many other independent sources.

That said; with InstaGC being operated by a company that is 100% legal, with it having industry-wide recognition, and with it having a relatively long operating record of actually paying its members, there is no doubt that it is a legit rewards site.

Is InstaGC safe?

InstaGC is safe. While a legit reward site will not rip you off, or waste your time, being legit is not enough. You’ll also want the ideal rewards site to be safe. To use a rewards site, you’ll share sensitive data such as your full name, mailing and billing address, birth date, and more; and you’ll want that the site is able to adequately safeguard these data so that it does not leak out to unauthorized third parties.

In this regards, InstaGC says that it takes reasonable care to ensure the protection of users’ data. Though it does not go into the details of the security measures it employs, there is little to nothing to suggest that it is not safe. For example, while you’ll find some complaints, there is none that cites a security or privacy concern. That said; it’s safe to say that InstaGC is safe.

Earning with InstaGC

To start earning with InstaGC, you’ll have to create an account. However, signing up in InstaGC is free. This also lends a hand to it being a legit survey site. This is because if you decide to back off, there’s no financial commitment that you’ll be losing. Also, registration is a simple process. In the landing page of the InstaGC website, you’ll find a short registration form.

You only need to nominate a username, input your email address, and password, and then click the “sign up and get 10 free points” button. In the page that opens up next, you’ll provide your names. Know that if you are resident in some countries, you cannot register without a verified PayPal account.

If you are in one of such countries, when required to link your verified PayPal account, you’ll find a link to go signup for PayPal. You can also register with InstaGC using your Facebook or Twitter accounts.

After signing up, you’ll have to complete a profile. This is especially important if you’ll want to earn by taking surveys on the site. Brands that pay for consumer feedback usually target a specific audience. So, the profile survey is theoretically supposed to establish your demographic so that you’ll receive only surveys that you are likely to qualify for.

Earning Potential

This section covers many of the activities that you can do to earn in InstaGC, as well as how much you can expect to earn for each of the activities. However, as you’ll be quick to find, you’ll not be getting rich in InstaGC. You won’t even be earning enough to quit your regular job.

That said; you’ll want to find different earning activities to keep the site exciting. Thankfully, InstaGC does well in this regards. It allows members to earn from taking surveys, doing tasks, watching videos, searching the web, and more.

1).  Surveys

Just like in most GPT sites, one of the most popular ways of earning in InstaGC is by completing surveys. InstaGC provides a lot of surveys as it source them from different providers, which includes Your Survey and Theorem Reach.

The surveys generally have the highest payouts. For each completed survey, you can expect to earn about 20 – 150 points (which works out to about $0.20 – $1.50). However, the bulk of the surveys you’ll find will hover around the $1.00 mark. Remember when we said that you won’t earn enough to be rich or to quit your regular job. This is clear to see here; as the paid activity with the highest payout gives you just about $1.00.

2). Offers

Another way to earn in InstaGC is by completing offers. For this, you’ll find a host of third parties Walls. These include Adgate, Offer Toro, Persona.ly, Revenue Universe, Acorn, and more. These offer walls are best understood as GPT sites in InstaGC. Thus, the offers vary. Among them are surveys, while others include visiting certain websites, signing up for certain offers, downloading certain apps, testing products, and more. However, offers generally have relatively low payouts. In fact, some Offer Walls (such as AdWall, Offer Daddy, PTC Wall, VideoLoyalty) pay less than a point; and points will have to accumulate up to a full point is earned before being credited.

You’ll find some offers that’ll pay hugely; these will require you to make a purchase or sign up to a subscription. You’ll know these offers if you’re asked for your credit card information.

3). Videos

Another way you can earn in InstaGC is by watching videos. Many of us watch videos online every day; so it’s good to be able to earn from it. InstaGC has a lot of videos from providers such as Hideout.tv, HyprMX, Engageme.TV, and more. You can simply call these up, watch them and watch the points drop into your account.

This is especially an important addition, as it gives a welcome break from the monotony of surveys. However, watching videos has relatively low payouts. You can view up to 20 videos using no less than 30 minutes to earn only 1 point (that is, $0.01).

4). Shopping

Another way you can earn in InstaGC is by shopping online. You may be someone who already shops online; you go directly to the store’s website and do your shopping. But that will only mean money leaves your pocket.

Instead, when you have to shop online, if you get to the store’s website from InstaGC, you’ll get cash back for every dollar spent in the store. That is, as you make your purchases, money also gets into your pocket. Depending on the store that you shop in, you can get 1% – 7% cashback. The retail partners of InstaGC in the “shop online and earn” program include top retailers like Walmart and Bestbuy. However, unlike some GPT sites whose stores directory holds some thousands of stores, InstaGC has relatively few shopping partners.

5). Referrals

One does not always have to sweat in a reward site in order to earn something. This is because of referral programs. InstaGC also has a referral program from which you can earn passive income. It’s a generous offer as it rewards you doubly. First, you’ll get 10 points per referral and you’ll also get 10% of whatever the referrals earns.

6). Contests

InstaGC like many other reward sites has contests which are designed to reward their most active members and to encourage others to be more active in the site.

This is because the contests reward the top three earners in the site within the contest period. There are various contests for Tasks, Offers, and Referrals. That is, in Referrals Contest InstaGC will reward the top three earners from referrals within the contest period; and in Offers Contest, they reward the top three earners from offers within the contest period; and so on. You’ll find daily, weekly and monthly contest. You’ll find what contest is available in your dashboard.

7). Sweepstakes

Sweepstakes are another way that you can get something substantial in InstaGC. However, sweepstakes are not everybody’s delight because you’ll have to buy entries into the sweepstakes; and if you do not win, you’ll lose all the hard earned entry points. As it’s often mentioned, it’s like gambling with your points.

Other Features

Availability

Everyone everywhere wants to earn something extra from a side hustle. Thus, rewards site that accepts members from anywhere in the world is very appealing. Thankfully, InstaGC is one of such rewards site. You can create an account and use InstaGC for your side hustle from virtually every part of the world.

However, you’ll have to be 18 years and above to be accepted. Minors (13 – 18 years) are allowed to use the site, but only after requesting and obtaining permission from their parents or guardians.

Mobile Compatibility

In an era where the majority of persons accessing the internet do so using mobile devices, any serious online platform will need to be compatible with mobile devices. InstaGC ticks this box. You can access the website using a web browser on your mobile phones and tablets. Thus, you do not have to be before your desktop devices before you can make use of InstaGC and earn money; you can start earning on the go.

Also, InstaGC is not only mobile compatible, but it is also a mobile-optimized website. This means that when you open the website with your mobile devices, it resizes to fit the screen of your device. This makes for better user experience as you’ll not have to drag left and right across the screen of your device in order to view the full page.

However, despite that you can do all and fully earn with the mobile-optimized site, InstaGC still falls short on the mobile front. This is because it does not have mobile apps; and so does not offer the advantages of apps such as personalized service, fast access, notifications, etc

Welcome Bonus

Like many other rewards site in the market, InstaGC offers a welcome bonus. This is given to all new members upon sign up. With the welcome bonus, you’ll earn something in the website even before you have participated in any earning activity.

However, the welcome bonus of InstaGC is only 10 points. With its points conversion rate (100 points = $1.00), the welcome bonus is worth only $0.10. While this is not the fat welcome bonus that you’ll find that some other reward sites offer, the good thing about it is that there are no conditions attached. For example, you don’t have to earn a number of points within a time period before you’ll be credited with the join bonus. Upon joining InstaGC, the 10 sign-up points drop into your account immediately.

Getting Paid

InstaGC Payment Proof

Ultimately, you want to get paid for your time and effort in a rewards site or GPT site. As mentioned earlier, InstaGC does pay its members. Since its founding in 2011, it has given over 1,252,500 free gift cards to members; and that is without counting the other rewards redeemed in cash. In the InstaGC website, you’ll find a link called “redemption proof” which will take you to its Facebook page. There, you’ll find hundreds of payment proof photos.

Also, apart from this self-sponsored payment page, with only a little search, you’ll find payment proofs of InstaGC on many independent online sources, ranging from blogs, to social media accounts, and more.

InstaGC Payment Proof

Reward Catalog

When it is time to withdraw your earnings, you’ll want to find a range of options. InstaGC does well in this regards, as it has a rewards catalogue that has cash and non-cash options. The cash options include PayPal payment, eCheck, and direct deposit; while the non-cash options include sweepstakes entries, charitable donations, pre-paid cards, and gift cards.

Being that InstaGC is from Instant Gift Cards, it does very well on the gift cards front. You’ll find that it holds gift cards of over 340 stores which includes big retailers (like Amazon, Walmart, etc) as well as specialist stores of fashion, restaurants, movies, and more.

Payment Threshold

One of the foremost considerations when looking at survey sites or GPT sites is the payment threshold (or more appropriately, the minimum cashout limit). That is, how much you must earn before you can seek payment. Understandable, users want this to be as low as possible so that they can request payment as soon as possible.

Thankfully, InstaGC shines in this regards. Its minimum cashout limit is 100 points (which is $1.00). However, the $1.00 cashout limit applies to only some categories of gift cards. For some other gift cards, you will need a minimum of $3.00 or $5.00. Requesting rewards via gift cards is also a popular choice because there are no fees associated.

However, to request reward via eChecks or direct bank deposit, you’ll need a minimum amount of $5.00. Also, using either option comes at a cost. After the first monthly payment, Direct Deposit will cost you 15 points every other time it is used; while eChecks will cost you 25 points every other time it is used.

InstaGC has a different policy when it comes to PayPal payment. If you are a member resident in the US, Canada, or the UK, you can only request payment through PayPal when you have redeemed at least $50 in cash or gift cards. Thus, InstaGC cannot serve US, Canadian or UK users who will want PayPal payment from the bat. However, all other members will have a PayPal option upon registration. Where the PayPal option is available for you, the minimum you can cashout using PayPal is $5.00. Lastly, there are no fees when using PayPal.

Speed of Payment

Yet another important consideration is the speed of payment. This is because after taking your time to complete the task, the little earnings shouldn’t take forever to be credited; and when you request payment, it shouldn’t take forever to be received.

Thankfully, in this regards, InstaGC lives up to its name. If you request payment via gift cards, it is received instantly. Upon redeeming your points, the gift cards code detail is instantly displayed on your device, and you can immediately use it online or in store.

eChecks generally take 1 – 3 business days to process, and will be received via email within a few minutes after being processed. Also, direct deposits take 1 – 3 business days to process, and will be received 1 – 2 business days after. When requesting PayPal payment, the first may take 1 – 7 business days, but after that you can get instantly processed PayPal transfers.

Customer Support Service

Every serious online platform should provide for answering the many questions that users will have, as well as to resolve the issues that its members may have. This is because, no matter how well a platform operates, customers will always have questions or issues.

In this regards, InstaGC provides the usual self-help resources and also supports direct contact help. For self-help, there’s a “Support” link in the landing page of the website that’ll take you to its knowledge base. This holds a lot of support articles which answers many of the questions that members have asked in the past. To aid navigation, these articles are arranged by subjects as follows: Account, Rewards, Points, Guides, and Take a Tour.

If you do not get the needed answers, you can directly contact a support rep of the company from the “Support Tickets” link in the knowledge base. Click “Create ticket” and the support form opens up, which you can proceed to fill and submit.

InstaGC Complaints

Our reviews are never complete without looking at complaints. This is because complaints can be used to gauge how healthy a company is. Too many and frequent complaints and you should probably stay clear, but very few complaints, and you might as well give it a shot.

For this complaints section, we looked at the popular independent customers’ reviews platforms such as Trustpilot and Sitejabber in order to find out what real users of InstaGC has to say about it. Interestingly, InstaGC comes out fine as it has relatively good ratings in these platforms. For example, at the time of writing this review, InstaGC had a rating of 3.0 out of 5 in Sitejabber (rated by 21 reviewers); and in Trustpilot, InstaGC had a rating of 3.5 out of 5 (rated by 49 reviewers).

Reviewers generally had good things to say, often lauding InstaGC for not only paying but also for paying fast. However, there were some complaints that stood out. These included: not receiving credits for surveys especially after being disqualified, rude moderators, and more.

Not receiving credits for surveys

The one complaint about InstaGC that rings out most is that sometimes members do not receive credits for surveys that they attempt. For example:

  • Gabriele Speranza in Trustpilot says “…I tried various surveys, I was rejected from all of them but one, but it didn’t payback…”
  • Anonymous I in Sitejabber says “deceptive practices used” The review added “Surveys are a constant problem. Complete surveys, and then you are told [you] did not qualify. Didn’t [they] know that at the start??? InstaGC blames everything on everyone but themselves. Do they not have the power to not accept the business of companies that do not pay for completed surveys? Of course they do…”
  • Nishant P. in Sitejabber says “Most of the time you are just not earning points or any money. The surveys don’t pay at all. Point never get updated…”

The first part of the complaint is that members complete surveys but do not get credited. However, it must be said that this does not mean that survey takers don’t get credited at all in InstaGC. As the reviews suggest, it is only sometimes that a few of the survey partners do not credit survey takers. Needless to say, it’s frustrating to not get credited after spending time to complete surveys; which makes it a serious problem. Unfortunately, InstaGC does nothing about this.

The second part of the complaint is that members are kicked out of surveys after spending a good amount of time in these surveys, and because of not taking the surveys to complete the affected members are not credited. It must be said that disqualification from surveys is not a problem that is peculiar to InstaGC.

It is one problem that plagues almost every paid survey site out there. However, it seems that it happens too frequently in InstaGC. Thus, just to qualify for and complete one or two surveys, you may have to attempt a lot of them.

Also, it should be said that to cushion the effect of being disqualified from surveys, many survey sites compensate members that are kicked out of surveys with some token points so that they’ll have something for their effort. However, InstaGC does not compensate members who are kicked out of surveys; which makes disqualification in InstaGC even more painful.

Getting Blocked

Another prominent complaint among users of InstaGC is getting blocked. Sometimes, members are blocked from certain paying activities (especially videos); and other times, members’ accounts are blocked altogether. For example:

  • Bean in Trustpilot says “Aggravating” The review continued “After watching a crap load of videos, I earned a whopping $1.26! Now all of a sudden it says videos restricted. Thanks for nothing but [taking] by data!!!”
  • Al H. in Sitejabber says “eventually everyone gets banned for hacking or bots or fraud or whatever their flavor is… [The] problem is most people they ban, like myself, have no clue how to do any of those things; so they just let you do the work, get [credited points], then refuse to pay you and make stupid claims; scummy website run by scummy people!”

With regards to getting banned from videos, InstaGC says that there’s nothing that it can do about it; InstaGC adds that “even admins/ mods get blocked as well”.

Freezing Points

Another complaint about InstaGC that pops up here and there is that it has a habit of freezing points after you have worked hard at earning these.

InstaGC freezes points earned from anyone offer, survey, or task valued at 225+ points, and this stay froze for 5+ days; InstaGC also freezes all points earned from shopping or trial offer, and these stay frozen for 14+ days.

For an example of complaints citing “frozen points”, Hung Dong in Trustpilot says “…and ‘frozen points’ is pretty much a way not to pay… even freezing 70 whole points; and then after having to email them way after the 14 days (I think 14 days to them = a year or hopefully u forgetting about them) they reply with messages like you’re cheating, or wanting ridiculous amount of proofs like its 25,000 points; just another way not to pay…”

InstaGC says that it freezes point “for loss prevention and precaution”. InstaGC adds that “Frozen points are a good thing”; in their explanation of why it is good, InstaGC says that freezing your points “means your tasks are credited”.

While it is true that frozen points mean tasks are credited, and that one has escaped that problem of not being credited for tasks. However, no matter how InstaGC embellishes it, frozen points are a problem because it means that you cannot request payment until the points are unfrozen.

Rude Customer Support Persons

In your journey in any platform, you may have a course to reach out for assistance. The reviews suggest that many persons who reach out to InstaGC are less than satisfied with the attitude of the support reps or moderators. For example:

  • JustOne SerbianGirl in Trustpilot says “Great site to earn money; I earned more than 1000$ per year. But I have to say they have mostly good mods except one that is called Cambre or something like that… just picking on people for saying their opinion and even blocking some. Of course he/ she has fav ones, and they can talk all they want
  • She-Ra in Trustpilot says “Great site and very useful; there are tons of different ways to make money. But god forbid you ask a question in the chat or have any sort of off topic discussion while Cambree is online. She is downright rude and disrespectful. She’ll jump down your throat if you ask a general question; and you can ALWAYS tell when you submit a support ticket and she is the one to respond (even though they never give names for who is responding to your support ticket) because there is always a snarky undertone or swarmy remark made in the response. Other than her, I give the site two thumbs up!! They just really need to do a better job of keeping attitudes of mods in check
  • Dee I in Sitejabber says “Used to be OK; not anymore” the review added “…Their support is also quite rude, so don’t expect much help

Too many complaints of “rude customer support” can be found online. In fact, there’s hardly a customers’ review platform where InstaGC is discussed that you won’t find more than one of such complaints. Thus, it cannot be chalked off as a one-off, or as a mere coincidence. Fortunately, this is also not an issue that InstaGC can put at the feet of their partners.

Conclusion

InstaGC is a legit GPT site where you can complete simple tasks online and receive free gift cards instantly. If you sign up to InstaGC, you’ll find that you can actually use it to make a little extra money online. In the site, you can earn from a ton of activities, which includes taking surveys, shopping online, watching videos, doing simple tasks, and more.

You won’t get rich or earn enough to quit your 9 to 5 job; but, in a month, you can throw some tens of dollars (or even three figures) into your pocket. Some of the biggest pluses of InstaGC are that with only 100 points (that is $1.00) you can request payment; also, when redeeming points via gift cards, you’ll receive these instantly. The reward catalogue has other options such as direct bank deposits, eCheck, PayPal payment, and charitable donation.

However, there are a few bumps on the road. InstaGC has this habit of freezing points for many days, and at that time, you cannot cashout. Then there is the issue of being kicked out of surveys. Though this happens everywhere, customers’ reviews suggest that it happens too frequently in InstaGC; worst still, InstaGC does not compensate customers that are disqualified from surveys.

Then there’s the complaint that some customer support Reps have the sharp tongue; so when you need assistance and reach out, you just might receive more than you bargained for.

Pros

  • Accepts members from around the world, and it is free to join
  • Offers a lot of ways to earn, which includes surveys, offers, videos, etc
  • Offer a welcome bonus that rewards all new members with 10 points
  • Has a referral program that rewards you with 10 points per referral and 10% of whatever referrals earn
  • Has a robust reward catalogue that supports Gift Cards, direct bank deposit, eChecks, PayPal, and charitable donations
  • Minimum cashout limit is very low (only $1.00)
  • When redeeming points using gift cards, payment is usually instant

Cons

  • Does not have mobile apps
  • US, Canadian and UK users can only request PayPal payment if all previous withdrawals (cash or gift cards) are up to $50
  • Sometimes, points are frozen and cannot be redeemed until after they are released
  • The rate of disqualification from surveys is quite high
  • There is no compensation when members are disqualified from surveys, meaning the time spent on surveys before being kicked out is totally wasted
  • Complaints of Customer Support Person being rude are too many and frequent
