Granted, for hygiene reasons, stores restrict the returns of items like swimwear, innerwear, shapewear, and piercing jewellery. However, there are some stores that allow the return of this item (albeit with a reduced return window) if the hygiene strip is unbroken. Thus, the total no-return of these items by YesStyle is not the friendliest.
For items that are eligible for returns, they must be in the conditions that they were when delivered. That is, they must be undamaged, unaltered, unworn (where applicable); and they must be returned in their original packaging.
When you have an unwanted item that you want to return, you won’t a difficult return process to frustrate your efforts.
To return a YesStyle order, you must first contact Customer Support to request a Return Merchandise Authorization. In the return request email, you’ll have to include: your order number, Catalog number of the item you are returning, reason for returning the item, and catalogue number and size of the item you wish to receive in exchange.
If the return request is approved and the RMA issued, you can then proceed to package the item appropriately and ship it back to the return address. The return shipping address differs depending on your location. For customers in the US, it is Portland Oregon; for customers in Canada, it is Mississauga, Ontario; for customers in the UK, and every other location, it is Tsing Yi, New Territories, Hong Kong.
Unwanted items are generally only accepted by retailers if returned within a specified time frame. Thus, you’ll want an extended time period so that you’ll not be pressed with time when you have an unwanted item on your hands.
YesStyle does relatively well in this regards. For items that are eligible for returns, the return request you’ll have to submit must be done within 14 days of delivery. If the return is approved and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is given, you’ll have 30 days from the RMA issue date to send the item back to YesStyle.
We’re used to seeing “30 days” return window, but it’s usually 30 days from the delivery date. This means that the window has already started closing already when the customer is contacting the retailer to get approval for a return. However, this problem does not exist with YesStyle, as its 30 days window starts counting only after return approval is given. Thus, YesStyle has a relatively generous return window.
You won’t want to be dissuaded from returning an unwanted item because of the prohibitive costs of making the return. Thus, the ideal legit online store should feature return cost that is as low as possible.
Thankfully, YesStyle does not charge restocking fees. The only return costs that apply are the return shipping cost. However, if you are returning an item because it is defective, the return shipping cost will be reimbursed, and you’ll have a free return. Note that, return shipping cost will only be refunded if you use Regular Air Mail or Registered Air Mail. The shipping cost of return package sent using express shipping will not be reimbursed.
That said; the customer bears the return shipping costs for all other returns (such as returning an item for size exchange, or etc). For US and Canada customers, the presences of YesStyle’s logistic partners in both countries (and used as return shipping address) mean that return shipping cost will be relatively low. But other customers who’ll have to ship their return package to YesStyle’s office in Hong Kong may find return shipping costs to be relatively high.
After shipping back the return package, you’ll want to know how you’ll get your money and when you’ll get it.
In terms of how; it depends on the reason for the return. When an item is returned because it is defective, YesStyle provides a replacement item and not a refund. It is only when a replacement item cannot be provided that a refund will be issued, and the refund will be in the form of store credits and not cash transfer via the original payment method. For all items returned but not defective, YesStyle also issues store credits and not cash transfer via the original payment method. YesStyle says that if the defective item returned is a jewellery product (except Silver 925 and silverware products) it may be considered for repair services.
Needless to say, cash refunds to the original payment method are usually preferred over store credits. This is because store credits tie you to the particular store as you cannot use the funds in any other store. However, where cash refunds are issued, the customer may choose to walk away and use the funds in another store. Thus, with YesStyle issuing only store credits, there’s no going to another store to use the returned “funds”; you’ll have no choice but to use the funds for future purchases in YesStyle.
It is possible to get cash refunds to your original payment method. This is by making guest Purchases. That is, you’ll have to opt-out of creating an account and being a member. However, with Guest Purchases, you’ll miss out on the benefits of the YesStyle Elite Club.
