But before diving into the earning activities, you’ll have to complete your profile. This is very important if you’re to have success in ySense. ySense allows you to earn money online. Since most online activities are done using mobile phones and tablets, you’ll expect the ideal GPT site to be compatible with mobile devices. Thankfully, ySense ticks this box.
You can open the website on both desktop and mobile devices. More so, the website is mobile-optimized, so the pages resize to fit the screen of your device. However, ySense does not have mobile apps.
One big question is how much you can really make using ySense. Some GPT sites will give you a figure (often overshot). However, ySense does not tow that line. Surveys hold the baton as the most popular way of earning in rewards sites, and it is not different in ySense. Does answering surveys and getting paid sound too good to be true? With ySense, it’s not. Many top brands need consumer insight to drive product/ service improvement or development. Because they can’t get this on their own, they paysites like ySense who recruit members like you to get your opinion. When you participate in the surveys, ySense pays you a portion of what they receive.
ySense offers many of their own surveys. However, they offer many others from third party survey providers like PeanutLabs, OfferToro, YourSurveys, AdGate, TapResearch, Opinion Surveys, and more.
As mentioned earlier, surveys are targeted at particular profiles. So if your answers are not consistent with the kind of person the survey provider is looking for, you’ll be disqualified and not allowed to take the survey to completion. Not taking it to completion means that you’ll not earn from it, and this is after the time and effort spent in answering the “qualifying” questions.
How much you’ll earn per completed survey varies, depending on the type and length of the survey. But you can expect to earn between $0.50 and $1.50 for each. Each survey will carry how much it will pay as well as an estimate of how long it’ll take, so you’ll know what to expect before you start.
Offers are other great earning avenues in GPT sites. In ySense, the Offers include testing a new product, watching videos, playing games, downloading apps, etc. Like the Surveys, ySense also draws offers from a host of third-party providers which include Wannads, Revenue Universe, ayeT Studios, AdGate, Adscend, and more.
If you go to the Offer page and click on any offer, you’ll be taken to the page of the third party where you can complete the offer. Most times, you’ll see your rewards instantaneously in your ySense account.
However, you should note that the offers generally have low payouts, and may not be a better way to earn in the site, when there are surveys. However, they can be a welcome break from the monotony of surveys. You may actually find offers with relatively high payouts, but these will require your credit card information. Some of these offers will require you to make a purchase (at a nominal price). Others are free trials, and unless you cancel at the end of the trial period, you’ll be automatically upgraded to a paid subscription.
Usually, the rewards far outweigh the cost of doing the “paid to do” offers, so they may be a good way to earn if you don’t mind submitting your credit card information.
Just as it is with many GPT sites, one way to earn in ySense is by completing simple online tasks. The tasks are simply a set of instructions that you follow and get paid for. Tasks vary; they include: categorizing online images, visiting certain websites, data entry, and more. So they are very simple and can be completed in very little time. Some tasks can be completed multiple times, while others can be completed only a certain number of times (some just once).
However, the tasks have relatively low payouts. ySense usually pays from a few cents to a few dollars. However, ySense has a “tasks bonus” which rewards members for completing tasks – for $50 worth of tasks that you complete, ySense pays a $5 bonus.
Another way to earn from the tasks in ySense is by participating in its weekly contests. Interestingly, there are no special ways to enter the contest, because the contest simply rewards the highest-earning members in the site. You simply have to go about your regular business of completing tasks and earning in the site. At the end of each week, the 10 highest earners receive a share of $100 cash rewards as follows: 1st place = $50; 2nd place = $20; 3rd place $10; 4th and 5th place = $5 each; 6th to 10th place = $2 each. This is what we call “paying you to earn more money”.
Another way you can earn in ySense is with its Checklist bonus. Given the meaning of “Checklist”, the Daily Checklist was designed to help you keep track of your daily activity in ySense. However, a bonus is built into it which can help you earn up to 16% of what you earn on the given day. The bonus is calculated from your completion of Figure Eight Tasks, Offers, and Surveys.
If you complete the Daily Checklist, you’ll be rewarded with a 12% bonus. You complete the Daily Checklist by doing any of the following:
In addition to this, if you complete the Checklist three days in a row, you’ll be rewarded with a 2% “activity extra bonus”, for that day’s earnings, and every other day thereafter, given that you complete the checklist continuously. But if you fail to complete the Checklist on any given day, the activity bonus Checklist will reset, and you’ll not get it again, until such a time when you complete the checklist three times in a row.
Also, there is also a feature called the ySense browser Addon, which is designed to help you keep track of your account status at the click of a button. If you have the Addon, you’ll get instantly notified of new Surveys and Figure Eight Tasks, so you’ll gain access to these surveys and tasks earlier than most. The Browser Add-on is available for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Interestingly, the ySense Addon is a great way of earning in ySense. When completing the checklist, if you run the ySense Addon for at least one hour on any given day, you’ll be rewarded with another 2% bonus.
Thus, the total extra bonus that you can get each day can be up to 16%:

With all the earning activities described so far, you’ll have to be active on the site to earn. How about being able to earn without being active? Everyone will jump at the opportunity. Thankfully, almost every reward sites offer that via referral programs, and ySense is no different.
With the referral program of ySense, after “working” to get a referral, you’ll earn referral bonuses for the activity of your referrals. This referral bonus is 20 – 30% depending on the number of your referrals.
When you start off, your referral bonus will be 20% of the qualifying earnings of your referrals; when your referrals reach 100, your referral bonus rises to 25% of qualifying earnings; and when your referrals reach 200, your referral bonus rises to 30% of qualifying earnings.
ySense does pay its members. There’s no doubt about that; since its launch (2007 as ClixSence), it has paid out over $39 million to its members. You’ll find lots of testimonials and payment proofs on the ySense website. However, if you suspect self-published claims (rightly so), you’ll also see testimonials and payment proofs of ySense in many independent sources. Know that many of these will still carry ClixSense, as the “brand” ySense is still relatively new.

How you will get paid is something that you should consider before starting with a GPT site. Thankfully, ySense does well in this regard. Its reward catalogue holds gift cards and cash options. The Gift Card option includes Amazon gift Cards and Tango Cards, while the cash options include Payoneer, Skrill, and PayPal.
This is a good range of payment options covering all the popular. Many survey takers gravitate towards PayPal payments; and with the robust retailer that Amazon is, Amazon-branded gift cards are also a people’s favourite.
One of the most important considerations in terms of payment is the payment threshold, which is how much you’ll need to earn before you can request payment. Most GPT members want this as low as possible; because a low minimum cashout amount means you’ll be able to get your payout as soon as possible.
Thankfully, ySense does well in this regard. You’ll find $5 Amazon vouchers that you can request. At the time of writing this review, PayPal payment was also available starting from $10.00. This is a relatively low minimum cash-out amount, meaning that you’ll be able to cash out sooner rather than later. ySense also allows users to cash out two times per day.
After managing to earn the required amount to cashout, out and request payment, you won’t want it to take forever for you to receive your payment. Thus, the ideal reward site should have a fast payout.
In this regard, ySense says that it takes 5 – 7 business days to process payments; but it warns that in some circumstances it could be longer. More so, for all new accounts, payment processing can easily take up to 15 business days. Know that ySense defines “new accounts” as those registered within the last 30 days or those cashing out for the first time.
Thus, ySense does not have the super-fast payouts that some GPT sites are beginning to offer (24 – 48 hours cashout), but it’s 5 – 7 days payout is relatively fine.
At some point in your journey with any online platform, you’ll need some answers to questions, or you’ll need some issues resolved. Thus, the ideal online platform should have an effective customer support service for handling the questions and issues that its customers may have.
Online platforms usually support some self-help resources as well as contact support. ySense is not different. Where you simply have questions, the self-help resources should be the first place to check. For this, ySense provides an FAQ page. To aid navigation, the articles of the FAQ are arranged under the following topics: General, Surveys and Task, Offers, and Referrals.
If you’ll rather directly correspond with a customer support rep, ySense supports an online ticketing system. To use this, use the “Contact Us” link on the ySense website. It’ll take you to an online contact form; fill it out, including your email address, and click “submit”.
ySense promises a response time of 24 – 48 hours for a response to every submitted ticket. While this is relatively okay, it’s still disappointing that there is no support for instant feedback channels such as telephone and Live Chat.
All our reviews usually feature a “complaints” section. This is because good insight can be gleaned from what real members of a site have to say about it. If members have too many complaints, then the GPT site may probably have too many problems; but if complaints are few, then the GPT site is probably worthwhile.
For the “complaints” section, we check the independent customers’ review platforms like Sitejabber, Trustpilot and SurveyPolice. Interestingly, ySense is just averagely rated. A couple of complaints were found which accounted for the average rating of ySense. This included: a high rate of disqualification from surveys, account suspensions, and more.
One of the complaints that dominated many of the independent platforms is that the rate of disqualification from surveys is high. For example:
Not qualifying for “2 out of 10 surveys” as a reviewer puts it is definitely too much to take. That this complaint always reared its head suggests that the rate of disqualification from surveys in ySense is high.
An explanation from disqualification from surveys is that surveys are targeted at particular profiles. This is understandable. However, from the reviews, it can be seen that it is not just the disqualifications that get to users but the fact that they’ll have spent considerable time in the surveys before they are kicked out. Disqualify me at the beginning and I just might take it, but disqualify me after I’ve spent 30 minutes to 1 hour, and it’ll be very hard to take.
Explaining this, ySense says that while demographic is one big reason for disqualifications from surveys, it is not always the only reason. Going further it says that sometimes, a survey asks you the same question twice to make sure that you are paying attention, and if you give conflicting answers, it means your answers are not reliable and will result in disqualification. So the survey provider may throw in different questions at different point of the survey to gauge your attentiveness. And when you’re deemed not to be paying attention, what follows is a disqualification.
Another complaint about ySense that we found had to do with non-payment. For example:
It should first be stated here that we found only a few complaints of non-payment. This is good news as it means that ySense does pay. Thus, not getting credited after completing surveys is an exception rather than the norm.
That said; the non-payment complaint is two-edged. On the one hand, there is the complaint that users sometimes complete surveys but do not get credited for them. The problem of “High disqualification rate” means getting a survey that you can do will be difficult; then it’ll be even more frustrating that after completing the survey, you don’t get credited for it.
ySense explains reasons why you may not get credited after doing surveys or offers in an FAQ answer for “In what cases will I NOT receive compensation for doing surveys”. Many of the reasons are a clear breach of the AdSense Terms of Service (TOS) such as registering by providing false or misleading information, providing false information in surveys, creating multiple accounts, being below the age requirement, etc.
However, ySense includes some reasons which are not in any way a breach of the TOS. This includes: “complete a survey well under the average length of the interview as recorded in our system” and “demonstrate inattentive behaviour by speeding through a survey or entering information that is ineligible”. Thus, if you are a speedster who can be “fast and attentive” while taking surveys; don’t engage this skill of yours when taking surveys or you just might be “punished” by not being credited for your effort.
The other part of the “non-payment complaint” is that when users are not credited after taking surveys, ySense usually ask for impossible information if they are to look into it. That is when the affected members reach out to ySense; the GPT site request information that the members just cannot provide, meaning they (members) do not get the expected resolution.
The information that ySense will request of you if it is to look into non-payment issue that you have are Survey provider, survey ID, survey credit amount, URL of the survey, a screenshot of completion. So be sure to write down the survey ID and also take a screenshot of completion just in case an issue occurs. If it is an offer that you subscribed to, photo evidence of your subscription is also needed.
That said; there is no doubt that the information that ySense requires in order to attend to non-payment issues is “huge”. Frankly, you’ll be hard-pressed to find users of GPT sites that keep a note of information like survey ID, survey credit amount, URL of the survey, a screenshot of completion, and more. Thus, users who contact ySense almost always cannot provide the requested information, and so are left empty-handed.
That is one reason for this section. Now that you know, if you do decide to use ySense, it will be fine to take note of survey IDs, screenshot every completion page, etc. Yes, it’s a hell of a work; but if non-payment issues occur, then the work will be worth it.
It should be noted here that we’ve seen many GPT sites who’ll simply tell users that are not credited that there’s nothing they (the GPT sites) can do because the problem stems from third party survey/ offer providers. That said; that ySense attempts a resolution is a plus, even while it makes seemingly impossible requests.
Another complaint about ySense that we found is that it often suspends accounts. For example:
It should be said that account suspensions are not particular to ySense. GPT sites generally have quick fingers when it comes to suspending accounts; and they explain this saying they have zero tolerance for fraud. Thus, when fraudulent activities are suspected, GPT sites waste no time in suspending accounts.
The problem is that many times when GPT sites suspect fraud and proceed to suspend accounts, users are confident that they have not engaged in any fraudulent activity. It also does not help that when users contact ySense about account suspension issues, the response is usually not specific.
Also, GPT sites only have to “suspect” fraudulent activity to press the suspend button. So if you earn a relatively significant sum within a relatively short time, your account is very likely to be suspended when you attempt cashing out.
The only good news here is that sometimes after a lot of checks and identity verification is done, suspended accounts are reopened.
ySense is one of the more popular reward sites in the industry, thanks to its days as ClixSense. It is free to join, and it accepts members from everywhere in the world. It offers many opportunities to earn, which include paid surveys, cash offers, Figure Eight Tasks, and more. ySense also has a lot of generous bonuses which can up earnings; these include a daily checklist bonus, activity extra bonus, ySense browser Addon bonus, referral bonus, and more.
ySense comes out strong in terms of payment. First, there are different payment options supported; and the minimum cashout limit is a relatively low $5; although you’ll need a minimum of $10 if you want PayPal payment. Also, payment processing is not the fastest in the industry; but taking 5 – 7 business days, it is fast enough.
However, it is not all smooth-sailing with ySense. I started Clixsense on May 27th 2016. I cashed out on June 10th and as of today, June 21st, I have not received a check. I have emailed the company several times and was told that the check was mailed two days later than usual due to some issues. Regardless, I should have received a check by now. I'm starting to think that this is a scam and that I just wasted my time.

I don't know why some people still looking for this type of work. You need to work a lot to get paid a penny. I think Ysense is good if you've a lot of active refferals. Apart from that Idon't think this site is worthwhile.
