Is Rotita legit?

Before using an online platform, it is important to determine that it is legit. This is because there are just too many scam artists on the web ripping people off using scam stores. Thus, the big question is whether Rotita is legit. The simple answer to that is: Yes it is. The longer answer is that Rotita is operated by a 100% legal company, and is an online store that fulfils orders.

Our first check of a legit online fashion store is usually legality. This is because stores that are 100% legal are less likely to be scams. Thankfully, Rotita ticks this box. The online store is owned by Hong Kong Yuzhen E-Commerce Co. Limited. This is a live company incorporated in 2016 in Hong Kong as a private company limited by shares. Suffice it to say that scam stores do not get the backing of legal corporations.

However, the ultimate test of a legit online store is fitness for purpose. For an online fashion store, fitness for purpose will be delivering real and functional fashion products to customers that place orders. There’s no doubt that it won’t matter to customers whether an online store has legal certificates if it does not fulfil orders. Thankfully, Rotita also ticks this box. In the independent customers’ reviews platforms, you’ll find all the testimonials you want; hundreds of orders are fulfilled daily by Rotita.

That said; with Rotita 100% legal and known to fulfil orders with real and functional products, there’s no doubt that it is a legit online fashion store.

However, there are lots of complaints from its customers. While writing this Rotita review, we did some research and investigation to know what Rotita is actually doing to their customers and we were disappointed that most of the feedback was bad. As a result of this, we will advise you to stay away from Rotita. Or order from them at your own risk. Don’t get us wrong, some people claimed to have received their items perfectly well but the number of bad reviews is far higher than the good ones.

Is Rotita safe?

Rotita is also a safe fashion store. Before using an online platform, even after determining that it is legit and will not rip you off, you’ll also need to consider whether it is safe and will adequately protect the sensitive information that you share with it, preventing such information from leaking out. Definitely, personal information and credit card details are not information that you’ll want leaking out to unauthorized third parties.

Rotita does relatively well in this regard. It says it takes the online safety of its customers very seriously, and that it uses reasonable security methods to ensure the safety of users’ data. It does not give the details of these “reasonable security methods”, but it was easy to find that among them SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology, which is the industry standard in ensuring secure data transmission over the internet. SSL uses bank-grade encryption ensuring that even if data being transmitted is managed to be intercepted, it cannot be read by the hackers.

With this, it is safe to say that Rotita is a safe online store where you can shop without worries about your information being compromised.

Rotita Complaints

The complaints section is always an important part of our reviews. This is because one of the best ways to gauge how healthy a product/ service provider is is to check what its customers have to say about it. True, there is virtually no establishment that is free of complaints. However, too many complaints raise red flags about the store, as the ideal legit store shouldn’t be overrun by complaints.

For this section, we checked the independent customer reviews platforms like Trustpilot and Sitejabber. At the time of writing this review, the ratings of Rotita on these platforms were just slightly above average. For example, in Sitejabber, Rotita was rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4,455 customers; while in Trustpilot, it was rated 2.9 out of 5 by 3,590 customers.

Interestingly, while these are not flying-colour ratings, they are relatively high ratings for a Chinese cross-border fashion store. That is, on these platforms, China-based online fashion stores usually have far poorer ratings.

That said, some complaints stood out in the customers’ reviews which made Rotita score just above average. These include:

Cancelling Orders without notice

One of the complaints that dominated the spaces is that many times after placing an order, Rotita will proceed to cancel it. For example:

  • Sunita Lall in Trustpilot says “…I ordered two dresses from them to go to a wedding. Here I am waiting for it to arrive not knowing that they cancelled my order without informing me they cancelled it. I contacted the customer service live chat; all they told me was that the order was cancelled and that I would get back my refund in 7 – 10 business days and the person just ended the chat right away. I couldn’t even ask anything else; they’re so rude and unreliable…”
  • Joan Hanson in Trustpilot says “…I ordered a top on the 2nd Nov… After the item was not delivered within the time scale given, I checked with them to be told the order expired. They have my address but didn’t bother to inform me nor have they returned my payment…”
  • Sue J in Sitejabber says “They let me place an order and charged my PayPal account then cancelled the order without telling me saying the item was no longer available but kept my money. I never would have known had I not gone back to the site because they never communicated with me in any way…”

As can be gleaned from the reviews, it is not the cancelling of the order that hurts, but the fact that Rotita does not communicate with the customer about it. So customers will be expecting their order; and when it doesn’t come as expected, they’ll reach out to Rotita only to be told the order was cancelled. Time wasted.

Sizes Running Small

Another complaint about Rotita that’ll jump out at you when you look at the review platforms is that Rotita does not run true to size. Specifically, its products are many size points smaller. For example,

  • Linda in Trustpilot says “Ordered 2 XL tops. They are too small. Will not fit a normal 6-year-old…”
  • Connie H in Sitejabber says “Purchased 5 tops from this site. Got them in the mail eventually, took one out to check the size. Tried it on, and immediately took it off… in spite of the fact that I had purchased the same size I use, the one I tried ran too small in the bust…”

Poor Quality

Is there a China-based store that will be free of poor quality complaints? Well, Rotita isn’t. There are just too many complaints of poor quality products received. For example:

  • Kathy D in Sitejabber says “I ordered one shirt first but was interested in many others. Glad I only did one. I will be returning it. For the cost, it is so cheaply made; and the design looks so much better in the pics than on the shirt when it came…”
  • Kimber B in Sitejabber says “…The clothes are HORRIBLE, so cheap; the tops I bought were like trying to wear a cotton sheet made to not move when you move your arm. NO, GIVE, NO COMFORT, THIN, CHEAP…”
  • Trudy I in Sitejabber says “…The quality of the material used is a disgrace. The sizing does not correspond with the UK counterpart which doesn’t really matter as I wouldn’t be found dead in the items. Another worry is several other sites seem to be advertising exactly the same clothes. Huge Chinese factory turning out inferior goods on different site names to the West I’d say…”

The poor-quality complaints take various forms. There are some stating that the items received differ significantly from what was pictured; there are others stating that the items received were made from poor quality materials, and there are others stating that the items received were poorly made.

However, it must be said that there are many customers that expressed satisfaction with the quality of their orders. Even some complaining customers often report having one or two items in their order with satisfactory quality.

That said; the quality of orders in Rotita is at best “hit or miss”. You can get items that you’ll be pleased with, but the significant number of poor quality complaints also means that you also can easily get delivered items of overwhelmingly unsatisfactory quality.

Difficulty Getting Refunds

Where poor quality complaints are many, there’ll be many requests for returns for refunds. However, as the customers’ review shows, returning Rotita’s items and getting a refund is not as easy as customers will like. For example:

  • Willard D in Sitejabber says “Sent item back for a refund, they received, promised refund several times and not received. 4 months later, still trying…”
  • Diane B in Sitejabber says “I responded to Rotita that none of their reasons for not refunding my money was true and that I planned to report my experience in as many reviews as possible. They wrote back and gave me a refund without further explanation. I will still not do business with this company again. The quality of the items is poor, delivery very slow, and there are many other sites where one does not have to argue to obtain a simple refund
  • TT in Sitejabber says “…I bought the item in the next size and returned the first unworn, tags still on in the perfect condition. Upon receiving the return I was told it was damaged or stained and I would not receive a full refund. It has been a month and still no refund…”

The “difficulty getting refunds” complaint starts from getting refund approval. As the numerous complaints show, Rotita will often give customers the run around when customers submit return requests. Then where approval is obtained, other issues rear their heads. First, with the return address being in China, and customers responsible for return shipping, they soon find that cost of return shipping is high.

Secondly, when customers do ship back the unwanted item, there are just too many reports of Rotita refusing to refund the customer, claiming that the item is damaged or stained, with the customer maintaining that it was never worn or washed. With this, you’re not even sure that after paying the heavy return shipping cost, you’ll get refunded; which means you could end up losing more (return shipping costs). Lastly, when Rotita does agree to a refund, actually getting the money back is easier said than done.

It should be said that this problem with getting refunded is the main reason why you’ll find Rotita labelled a scam on some platforms. If customers do not receive their order or are dissatisfied with the quality of their orders, they’ll not be too pissed if they can get back their money without hassles. However, if there’s any chance that they’ll be out of pocket, then the scam label is placed on the retailer.

Poor Customer Support

Another complaint that you’ll find is that Rotita’s support service is poor. Given the numerous poor quality reports, you’ll expect the Support Service to be inundated with requests. However, customers are often left dissatisfied. It is not just that they couldn’t get the needed help, but the reviews show basic Support failures like not answering submissions. The first complaint in this section (cancelling orders without communicating with the customer) tells you much about the support service.

Ordered quite a few items from this company, and never received ONE! Called and called…When no responses, I looked up the reviews, and…yep, it’s a scam. Some people did get items, I presume so that they won’t be listed as fraudulent, just a “troubled” company? Anyway, I hope this warns some others out of ordering from these guys!

I will give them zero stars if possible, this is a Chinese website with the lowest quality on their fabric, I ordered a dress cost me 37 dollars, it was like a joke, didn’t look at all like the picture on their website, the fabric was a joke, and they basically refused to refund the money, they keep sending offers to keep the item, DO NOT WASTE MONEY, go to Ross or any other discount store in the USA, no need to be wasting money with those fraudulent websites from China.

I asked where my item was because I had paid $20 extra for 3 to 5 day shipping and 5 days later my item was still not even processed so I asked for a refund the next day I got a response that told me to be patient so I replied absolutely not I just want a refund so now day 3 which is 8 days after my purchase I’m told it’s too late because the item has been shipped so never again will I shop here and whoever replies to the tickets that are submitted or at least mine their boss should have a chat with them on how to conduct business properly when someone asks for a refund you don’t say no be patient that’s their decision, not yours

They will drive you crazy if you want to return anything. They really are a scam.

Any good reviews you see are fake. I absolutely guarantee it. They will be short sentences saying how awesome the company is and will be put on the site in small groups to help boost their score.

This company is a scam. Your purchase and nothing ever arrives. Then they try to refuse to give you your money back as if taking money for a product and then not giving it to the customer is an acceptable business practice. I would give them zero stars if I could. Run for the hills if you are considering purchasing.

I order dresses on May 15th 2018 and it now June 10th 2018 and no dress. I was promised a refund of 50% if the dress were not received by 6/7/2018 and a full refund if not received by 6/20/2018. We’ll see about that!! As of right now the merchant or the shipping people do not know the location of my package. if I knew the dresses were coming from another country I would NOT have ordered them to avoid this problem.

I also had an issue ordering on the website it stated that there was a problem with my payment. I didn’t know because usually, the merchant will call the client. However, I just happened to see that I have a message on their website to address.

It should be said that Rotita items ships from China, but that it does well in terms of delivery times. Many of the china-based stores are overrun with late delivery complaints, but that was not the case with Rotita. Though a few Rotita customers reported late delivery, many many more were satisfied with delivery times. So, late delivery does not appear to be a problem plaguing Rotita.

Shipping Cost

Online stores that offer shipping costs that are as low as possible always come out strong. This is because shipping costs are added to items’ purchase costs in determining the total cost. As such high shipping costs can easily make even items that are reasonably priced too expensive to acquire.

Rotita also does relatively well in this regard. For example, when shipping to the US, Flat Rate shipping cost $2.99 for orders less than $20, but free for orders over $20; Standard Shipping cost $4.99; while Expedited shipping cost is calculated by package weight.

When shipping to every other country supported, Flat Rate shipping is also free for orders over $20; while Standard Shipping and Expedited shipping costs are calculated by the weight of the package and the distance the package will travel.

The plus of the shipping cost is not just that free shipping is offered, but also that the minimum order requirement for getting free shipping is very low (just $20+ orders). With only $20+ required to get free shipping, you’ll not be pressured to overspend in chase of free shipping. Also, the free shipping offer applies to every location. This is unlike many other fashion stores that offer free shipping to only their domestic market.

Returns

In online purchases, customers are unable to physically assess items before committing to them. For this customers will want stores that allow returns; that is, being able to return to the retailer any delivered item that is not totally satisfactory. Thankfully, Rotita is one online fashion store that allows returns.

Eligible Items

Usually, not every item is eligible for returns. However, you’ll want return restrictions to be limited so that you can return virtually every item that you’re not content with. In Rotita, most items are eligible for returns. Only jewellery and Flash Sales products are final sales and cannot be returned.

Eligible items must be returned in the new condition they were when delivered. That is, they must be unused, unworn, unwashed, and unaltered. Any sign of use will make an eligible item rejected when returned; and these include stains (with makeup etc) or scent (deodorant, perfume, etc).

Return Process

Receiving an item that does not meet expectation is frustrating enough. So the ideal online store should have an easy return process.

In this regard, Rotita is so-so. Like most online fashion stores, if you receive a Rotita order that you are not totally satisfied with, you’ll have to first contact Rotita, to submit a return request and get a Return Authorization.

After logging in, navigate to the “My Orders” page and click on “Returns & Refunds”. Then follow the instructions to submit the return application.

If Rotita approves of the returns, in the approval mail, you’ll get the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number and the Return Address. You can then proceed to package the item appropriately, and mail the Return Package to Rotita. You’re required to use shipping with tracking because you’ll need to update the return tracking number.

Return Window

However, you don’t have forever to return an unwanted item. Like in every online store, items returned are only accepted if received by the store within a specified time frame. You’ll want an extended time frame so that your return package will not be received late and be rejected.

Rotita does well in this regard, as it accepts all returns made within 30 days of the delivery date. This is like the industry-standard return window. So you’ll have enough time to return any Rotita’s item that you’re not content with.

Cost of Returns

Where costs are involved, you’ll want them to be as low as possible. Being delivered an unwanted item is frustrating enough; you definitely won’t want to be forced to hold on to unwanted items because of prohibitive return costs.

In this regard, stores that offer free returns come out strong. Unfortunately, Rotita does not offer free returns. It does not charge restocking fees, but return shipping cost applies. However, customers are required to bear the cost of return shipping.

Returns Processing and Refunds

After successfully shipping your return package, you won’t want to be waiting forever to receive your refund. Thus, the ideal online fashion store should offer fast processing of returns and issuance of refunds.

In this regard, Rotita advertises that it processes returns in 7 business days after which refunds are issued immediately. However, after refunds are issued, it may take some time to be reflected in your account. How much time it takes will depend on your original means of payment. Where the payment was via PayPal, the funds will be reflected 1 – 3 business days after issuance, while it’ll take 10 – 20 business days for refunds to credit cards and bank accounts to reflect.

Am I allowed to return or exchange the order?

You can return the exchange within 30 days of receipt for most items in new condition within 30 days of delivery.

Rotita Return & Exchange Policy

  1. You have 30 days to decide if an item is right for you if not, you can certainly come to them within 30 days of receipt.
  2. Flash sale products, Jewelry are not covered by warranty.
  3. Returns must be received in new condition; unused, unworn, unwashed. Items returned with obvious use, makeup, deodorant, perfume, or similar product stains will be subject to refusal.
  4. Any address on the parcel is not an approved return address, and they don’t accept the returned package without an authorized return address from the customer service representative.
  5. They do not accept packages returned using C.O.D. service. Return shipping charges are non-refundable.
  6. Please return through your local post office to avoid tax.
  7. For the returns, No signature is required! Please do not add signature service otherwise they are highly likely not to receive it and this will delay your refund progress.
  8. Please also do not mail any envelopes to the return address for inquiry. They will discard the letter automatically. The best way to communicate and solve your problem is through our ticket system or online chat!

How to return the order

  1. Log in “My Order“, then submit a ticket for return & refund.
  2. Their customer service will communicate with you on the ticket, and approved your application. Please pay attention to the reply they sent every time.
  3. After the application is approved, you will get the Return Address and RMA number in the ticket.
  4. Pack the items you want to return, and ship them back by any shipping company available, like FedEx, TNT, DHL, UPS. Post Office is recommended to avoid tax.
  5. This is the most important step, please send us your return tracking number and shipping company by ticket. Without this info, they can’t apply any refund for return.
  6. You can also track the package online, then you will know when the package was delivered to us.
  7. Once they have received the returned item(s), their customer service will apply for the refund in 7 working days.
  8. It normally takes 10-20 business days for the refund to appear on your bank account or credit card. Or 1-3 working days in PayPal (normally in 48 hours ), that depends on the original way you used.

Note: Rotita is not responsible for missing, damaged, or packages lost in transit.

How to exchange the order

You can make a new order first, and when they get the return, they will apply a full refund of the items you returned.

Can you have a full refund for the return?

They will offer a full refund of the items you returned. Please note that the customer is responsible for the return shipping fee.

How long does it take to get your refund

1. The refund will be issued within 7 business days upon the receipt by their warehouse and verified the conditions of the items.

What if your package was refused or was undeliverable?

  1. Want to reship a refused or undeliverable package? No problem. They offer free resend as soon as the previous order is returned.
  2. Whether you are willing to get a resend or refund, please log in “My Order“, then submit a ticket, they will reply in 1 working day except for weekends

Cancel Paid Orders

Customers are not allowed to cancel paid orders by themselves. You shall submit a ticket and request to cancel. Their customer service will help and apply for a refund.

What is the RMA number?

It is Return Merchandise Authorization. They will send it with the return address in the return ticket. And when you drop the return package at the post office, you need to put it on the return package.

How to return or exchange an item

Log in to the My Orders page and click the “Return & Refund” button, then follow the instructions to submit the return application.

When you will get the refund

Disgraceful customer service

I ordered and paid for swimwear on the 2nd of February 2020. I have the proof o my crefig card. As of today 21 April i have never received said swimwear and after emailing them constantly for the the past 5 weeks they are not refunding or should i say repaying my money. £45.25. The emails i have received are ridiculous. I am so frustrated. Its diffucult to get through to the credit card company at this awful time. Rotita are thieves and fraudsters . I wouldnt ever buy from them. Take heed everyone. They have no scruples

THIEVES AND LIARS!!!!

Ordered on 12/13/2019 and never received the product. ROTITA claims the packages were "delivered" so they aren't entitled to refund my money, even though I paid for shipping insurance, and their policy is to refund the money or replace the missing/damaged items, BUT THEY WON'T EVEN HONOR THEIR OWN SHIPPING INSURANCE POLICY! At one point in my Ticket Claim process on their website, they acknowledge they were going to refund my money but that I had to "close the PayPal dispute" first, but I don't have an open dispute with PayPal. I have told them repeatedly that I don't have a PayPal dispute, but they just keep saying the same thing, "close PayPal dispute then we refund the money". They are LIARS and THIEVES, DON'T TRUST OR BELIEVE A THING THEY SAY. DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY BECAUSE YOU ARE BASICALLY JUST GIVING YOUR MONEY AWAY TO A BUNCH OF LIARS AND THIEVES!!!!

Horrible service

If there was a zero rating, I would use it. I placed my order on 11/6. On 11/17 Tracking indicated they have not even filled the order yet. When I tried to cancel my order, I could not. I contacted their Chat and was told it will be shipped on 11/22-- and it is coming from China.
So if you want something in a timely manner DO NOT do business with this company.

Save your money

Ordered Bathing suit. By the time I received it(almost 2 months) it was too late for my outing. Product was not the color or style from picture. Read the reviews too late and didn’t even try to get my money back. Lesson learned. Don’t believe the 5-7 Shipping days. It was just shy of 7 weeks. Never again!

Lousy customer service

So, first of all, it is not possible to give "0" stars. They do not deserve even 1 star. I ordered from Rotita on July 29, 2019. The order was late arriving. I contacted the customer service and of course there is no telephone contact. I used the live chat. What a joke. You type in your complaint and then it takes a LONG time for them to respond in the chat - if they respond at all. Anu and Suganya were particularly bad for this. They asked for my bank records to prove that I had paid for the merchandise. The company had sent me two emails indicating that payment was received and yet they asked for BANK RECORDs - not a hope in you know what, would I give an online company my bank information. Both customer service reps asked for bank records.

Then to respond to the question, all they do is copy information from the computer system. They don't actually type responses. Then you have to figure out what the computer information really means.

I ordered 4 items. 3 finally came altogether after my crappy experience with Anu. Then the 4 item came and I was charged another $26 before the courier company would had it over. Yet, their website says free shipping. What else are they lying about???

I was on the live chat for over 30 minutes. There was a gap of 15 minutes after the last chat and I finally stopped chatting. I am still waiting for the manager to call me. I was advised it would be at least 12 hours before a manager would call me back. Obviously there 24/7 customer services only includes reps on at night, no managers.

This has been a terrible experience and I will NEVER order from them again. They behave without ethics or decency. I doubt a manager will ever call back. I doubt I will ever get my $26.00 back and I know I will never be compensated for my time to follow up on this lousy, crappy, unethical, miserable experience.

At first they were able to take my cash instantly from my account, I made my purchase 2/4/19 and was told it would arrive by the 14 or 15 was perfect since it’s was valentines. As the day was approaching on the 11 I received an email stating that they did not have my address, I let them know that I gave them the information at the time of my order and resent my address with much hesitation. Then I was told it’s arrival time would be in March. At this point I requested a 50% refund as it so states in their policy, they fought me on this for days and would not budge, I let them know that I was going to add a bad review to the ones already posted it was then they refunded the 50%. Not good PR

    • Oh sure you can buy from them and have the money come out of PayPal and your bank ! They even make a shipping label than next thing you know they are sending a email stating that you never paid even though you show them all the proof. They cancelled the order without my permission and now will look into it and to wait for 10 days!! What a joke !! Stop stealing peoples MONEY!! Why would you create a shipping label?!! My advice to other people STAY AWAY!!

    • I ordered two blouses which came in a timely manner, they were of good quality and well made but did not fit correctly. The package contained no return forms or anyway to contact them. On the web it had an email address which after two tries I finally received an answer telling me to use a number to place in my return package which I did. That was in June and now in September I still have not received my money. Very poor customer service.

  • I ordered two shirts. When I received them, they were SO cheap looking I instantly returned them using their return process. After several weeks of waiting, I was told that my shirts were worn and stained! I never even tried them on and put them back in the original bags! This place is a scam and took my money for sure. Either people in their warehouse are doing this to steal the clothing for themselves, or this is a scam that they use to not really give refunds. Not only am I out the money for the shirts, but the shipping both ways! I was really shocked! Beware!

  • I've had a very bad experience with Rotita and i just had to come warn other buyers to beware. I ordered three dresses on rotita in September. The orders were delivered on October 6. For context, i live in Canada. On getting the order, i found the quality of the dresses were really poor and substandard for a $40 dress (each) so i returned them through USPS to the address provided to me by their agent. My return was received on October 14, still within the 30 days return policy. I never received a refund and today, December 5, i reached out to them through live chat and the agent disconnected the chat when i asked for my refund. So i opened a new ticket, aside from my original refund ticket and got a message from them saying my return period had exceeded the 30 days return period and was no longer eligible for a refund.

    In my mind, an online store with no physical location shipping from China is nothing but a scam. Buyers beware!

  • I wish I would have done my research before I purchased from this company. I placed an order on 12/13/2019 and I still have not received my product as of 01/10/2020. Every time I open a Chat Session to inquire about my order, "I am told to be patient and I will receive my product". The Chat agents don't work for Rotita directly, they are outsourced, so they can't actually do anything for you except to try and reassure you that your product will arrive soon. Since there is no phone number to contact Rotita directly, all you can do is open a "Ticket" about your order on their website, which I have done several times, and still to this date I have not received a response from them. THEY ARE DOWN-RIGHT THIEVES!!!! I have disputed the transaction with my credit card company, and thankfully they are honest and reputable so I will get my money back from Rotita, but if I could turn back time and never have placed the order, I would!!! I will file complaints with any and all Domestic and International agencies that will allow me to. Consumers should not have to deal with online thieves like this! SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!

  • I thought that the styles were lovely, but I will not order ANYTHING online. So I "chatted" with a rep online, asking for a 1-800 phone #. She simply replied with a one word answer which was "NO". I replied with "No?" in which she did not reply. I replied again with "it sounds like a scam company". which again she did not reply, finally supplying me with the online site info only. She then told me to order online that way. I refuse to order from China in this fashion. No pun intended!
