When planning an online purchase, it is not enough that an online store holds a wide range of products, it’s also important that it holds a large inventory of each product type. That is, it’s not enough that there is a Dresses or Rompers category, it’s important that each featured category holds tons of items that’ll satisfy selection needs.
However, Venidress does not shine bright in this regards. Its name suggests that it focuses on providing dresses. This is clear if you look at its listing. The dress category has always been Venidress’ most stocked product category, and it was no different at the time of writing this review. We found about 120 different dress styles listed. Though, industry-wide, 120+ items is relatively small; it is significantly more than you’ll find in the other product categories of Venidress.
For example the Bottoms category had only 8 items (3 jeans and 5 skirts); the Rompers & Jumpsuits category had only 12 items; the Tops category had only 41 items (9 T-Shirts, 8 blouses, 18 cardigans, and only 1 Hoody); and the swimwear category had only 11 items.
That said; Venidress may not be the best destination to shop non-dress clothing, as it does not have the vast collection to satisfy many a selection needs.
One of the selling points of an online purchase is convenience. Thus, using the ideal online fashion store should be easy-breezy.
Venidress actually kicks off well in terms of ease of use. The website has everything properly laid out, and you’ll easily find your way around even if you are new to online purchase. Also, it is mobile compatible, so you can fire it up using mobile browsers. More so, the website is mobile-optimized, so you won’t have to scroll left and right to view full web pages. Venidress does not have mobile apps yet; but with its mobile-optimized website, it serves an optimal mobile shopping experience.
You also do not want a headache when searching for items. Thankfully, this is relatively straightforward in Venidress. You’ll only to browse through the product categories. Unfortunately, Venidress does not have a Search button to expedite “discovering items”. Shoppers who do not have the time to search through many listings are usually served by the “Search” feature. They can just enter product keywords in the search, and they’ll get products related to their search enquiry. Adding a “Search” button to the website is something Venidress should do to improve its functionality.
The only thing that helps is that Venidress collection is not monstrous, so you may not have to go through too many featured items when finding something.
Also, when searching for items, you’ll find that Venidress does not use too many subcategories in its product listings. No product category had subcategories; the only exception is the Tops category (which has the subcategories T-Shirts, Blouses & Shirts, Cardigans & Sweaters, and Hoodies). Not having sub-categories is no problem in product categories with small numbers, but it becomes a problem in the Dresses category that is relatively well-stocked. That is, you shouldn’t have to go through all 120+ dress styles if you need a midi dress. True, there are filters which do the job of narrowing searches, but sub-categories will do the job in fewer clicks making for better user experience
After finding an item that you’ll want to order, clicking on it will take you to its description page. There you’ll find a detail description of the item, as well as more product images. If you still want it, you can then select a colour, a size, and choose the quantity needed; after which you can click “Add to Cart”.
Once you have the desired items in your cart, you can click the bag icon in the website at any time to view your cart. From there, you can click “Checkout” to proceed with placing your order. Interestingly, there is also a box to leave “special instructions for the seller”. At the checkout, you’ll have the opportunity to apply any discount coupons that you may want to use to discount the price.
The next step prompts you to log in. If you have not signed up, you’ll be required to sign up. This means that Venidress does not support “Guest Checkout”. Many customers are not okay with their information being stored by online fashion stores; and “Guest Checkouts” is a feature employed to cater to such customers. Unfortunately, Venidress does not support it. So, if you’ll rather not register and create an account before shopping from an online fashion store, Venidress is not a place to enter.
When you’re signed in, you can then complete the shipping address, select a shipping method; and then proceed to the payment page to provide payment information and make payment. Also, online ordering is the only way to buy from Venidress. Unlike many other online fashion stores, it does not support ordering by phone.

As we’ll find in the “complaints” section, this is one of the areas where Venidress talks sweetly but does not act so sweetly.
In our times, no shopper will want to throw away money. Thus, customers are attracted to stores that are perceived as reasonably priced. As such the ideal online store should feature prices that are as low as possible.
In this regards, Venidress promises to provide products at “incredible prices”. However, in our opinion, the prices of featured items in Venidress are not really at the rock-bottom level that “incredible prices” promises. If you’re the price-conscious shopper, you’ll definitely see many online fashion stores with lower-priced items. However, Venidress’ prices do not come out as expensive either. So they fall at the average level – not rock bottom, but not expensive either.
For example; at the time of writing this review, dresses were listed for $20.40 – $45.88. Note that no dress was below $20, and none was over $50. To put this in perspective, online fashion stores with floored prices will have many dress styles under $20, while expensive stores will have many dress styles over $50.
It was a similar story in the other product categories. For example: the Tops were priced $22.92 – $45.10; Jumpsuits & Rompers were priced $28.95 – $42.45; bottoms were priced $24.08 – $39.28; while Swimwear were priced $23.28 – $28.36.
While you may find these prices relatively low; they do not make Venidress a “lowest cost” contender as there are many online fashion stores with really floored prices.
The search for the best prices also takes shoppers to online stores that run a lot of promotions. These promotional offers make it possible for customers to get items for free or for less than the items will normally go for. Thus, to many customers, the ideal online store will be one that runs a lot of promotions.
Venidress does not do badly in this regards. When writing this review, the landing page of the Venidress website announced a few promotions. These included offers like “Buy 2 get 12% off” and “Buy 3 get 16% off”. Looking at the product listings, we also found lots of Sales items featuring different percentages of the normal selling price.
However, as it is in every online store, promotions are time-specific, only available for redemption within a specific time period. Thus, to know what promo is running at any one time, you’ll need to check the Venidress website. Alternatively, you can sign up for the Venidress newsletter; and you’ll get email alerts of offers and deals.
We find that many persons do not fancy the additional mails in their inbox (that signing up for newsletters entails); so to encourage signing up, many of the online fashion stores incentivize it by giving a discount of the first purchase following signup. Unfortunately, Venidress does not offer any bonus to sign up for its newsletter; if something is offered, we did not find it.
When shopping online, you’ll want to find a range of convenient payment methods so that you can pay for your orders without hassles. Venidress does not support a range of methods, but you won’t have problems with paying for your Venidress orders also. This is because it supports PayPal.
With PayPal supported, you only need a PayPal account; and no matter where you are in the world, you should not have issues with paying for your orders. However, it is still unfortunate that credit and debit cards are not directly supported.
With every online purchase is a shipping contract because the items will have to be shipped from the company’s facility to the customer shipping address. Thus, important shipping considerations when shopping online include: whether the online store ships merchandise to your location, how long it will take to deliver, and how much delivery cost.
If an online store does not ship to your location, your order may not process; and where it does, receiving delivery of it will be unnecessarily difficult. After placing an order, you’ll not want to be waiting too long for it to be delivered. That said, you’ll want the ideal online store to offer fast delivery.
Delivery times typically consist of order processing time and shipment time. The former is how much time passes from when the order is placed to when the package ships, while the latter is how much time passes from when the package ships to when it arrives at the customers’ shipping address.
Venidress advertises that it takes 1 – 5 business days to prepare orders and dispatch them for shipping. After items ship, the actual time it takes to reach addresses depend on the country the item is shipping to and the shipping method selected. In this regards, Venidress offers three shipping options – Flat Rate Shipping, Standard Shipping, and Expedited Shipping.
When shipping to the US and Canada; all three options are available. The Flat Rate Shipping takes 8 – 15 working days, the Standard Shipping takes 6 – 10 working days; while the Expedited Shipping takes 3 – working days. However, when shipping to other countries, only Flat Rate Shipping and Expedited Shipping are available.
The total acquisition cost of an online purchase is made up of the item’s listed price and its shipping cost. Thus, for the total cost of online purchases to be acceptable, not only should the listed price be reasonable, shipping cost should also be as low as possible.
In this regards, Venidress does relatively well. When shipping to the US and Canada: Flat Rate Shipping is absolutely free; Standard Shipping cost $5.99 but is free for all orders over $99; while Expedited Shipping cost $10.00. When shipping to other worldwide countries: Flat Rate Shipping cost $5 but is free for all orders over $30; while Expedited Shipping cost $10.
It is a plus that Venidress offers the lowest possible shipping cost, which is $0.00 (free shipping). More so, the free shipping offer of Venidress makes for good reading. First, it is not geo-specific. That is, free shipping is available to every place that Venidress ships merchandise to. So no matter where you are, you’ll be able to get free shipping of your Venidress order. Another good thing about Venidress’ free shipping offer is the minimum order requirement.
If you’re resident in the US or Canada, you can get free shipping for all orders. That is, there’ll be no minimum order requirement (albeit in the relatively slower Flat Rate Shipping). For the relatively faster Standard Shipping option, free shipping is still available; but with a $99+ minimum order requirement apply. However, for orders shipping to every other country, minimum order requirement always applies. Interestingly, this is relatively low. With orders just over $30, customers outside the US or Canada will qualify to have free shipping.
One of the arguments against online purchase is that it does not allow for customers to physically assess an item before the purchase is completed. So a real chance is there that when an order is received, it may not be totally satisfactory.
That said, customers gravitate towards online stores that will allow them to return items that are not totally satisfactory (and get a replacement or a refund of payment). In this regards, Venidress says that it allows returns, and it advertises a relatively good return policy.
When looking at a store, it’s not enough that it offers returns, it’s also important that the return process is easy. Needless to say, you’ll not want the frustrations of receiving an unsatisfactory item to be capped by a frustrating return process.
In this regards, to make any return to Venidress, you’ll have to first contact its customer support team via email and obtain a return authorization. Venidress does not offer a “no questions asked” return policy. So in the return request, you’ll have to state your reasons for the return (describing the issue and even showing photo evidence of the issue). Venidress says further that return request will be reviewed and replied within 24 working hours.
If the return request is accepted, the authorization mail that Venidress will send will contain the return address. Only then can you proceed to package the item appropriately and mail to the return address. It’s advisable that you use a shipping option with tracking so that you can track the item all the way to Venidress’ facility.
It should be noted that “returns” are subject to approval. Venidress makes it sound like getting approval is easy breezy. However, it must be said that its customer’s reviews suggest otherwise.
Typically, customers do not have forever to return an item to its retailer. Only items that are returned within a specified window are accepted back by retailers. That said, you’ll want an extended return window so that you’ll not run the risk of your items being rejected by the retailer for being returned late.
In this regards, Venidress says that its items can be returned within 30 days after delivery. This is like the “standard” return window in the industry right now. So if you submit your return request immediately following delivery, and Venidress does respond on time with approval, you shouldn’t be pressed with time.
However, know that it is not every item that is bought from an online store that can be returned. That said, you’ll want the return restrictions to be limited so that you’re less likely to purchase items you’ll want to return only to find them non-returnable. In this regards, Venidress says that only promotional items or items on sale are non-returnable.
However, items that are eligible for returns will only be accepted if they are in their original new conditions. That is, they must be unworn, unwashed, and all labels and seals must be intact.
When you receive an item you’ll rather return to its retailer, you’ll also need to consider the cost of making the return. Thus, the ideal online store will be one with the cost of returns that are as low as possible.
Return cost typically includes restocking fees and return shipping fees. Venidress does not charge restocking fees, but return shipping fees apply. In this regards, Venidress says that it’ll be responsible for all defective items returned within the 30 days return window. It lists that its liability covers: stains, zipper malfunction, ripped or torn, very poor quality materials, obvious colour difference, and major difference between the photographed product and the product received. Venidress continues that the customer is responsible for all shipping charges incurred on return merchandise if the reason for return is no fault of it. This will include situations where the customer has chosen the wrong size or colour, or where the item is not faulty but the customer just doesn’t like it after receiving it.
This really should be the standard. Retailers should stand by their products and not only allow returns but be responsible for the return shipping cost if delivered items are found to be “defective”. However, while Venidress advertises this good policy, the customer reviews suggest that it does otherwise (more on this in the complaints section).
Also, it should be said that the return address of Venidress is in China. Venidress does not say this anywhere in its website, and customers find out only when they receive a return authorization. This is an issue because the cost of shipping all the way to China can be relatively high.
After shipping back the return package, you’ll not want to be waiting for too long to receive the refund. Thus, the ideal online fashion store should be one that processes returns and issue refunds as fast as possible.
In this regards, Venidress advertises that refunds are issued immediately after the returned item is processed; and that this typically takes 7 – 9 working days. However, after the refund is issued, it will take some time before it reflects in your account.
When using online platforms, there’ll be times when you’ll have questions and will need answers; and there’ll be other times when you’ll have issues with orders or accounts, and will want these resolved. That said, the ideal online fashion store will be one that has an effective customer support service for answering the questions and resolving the issues that its customers will have.
Online platforms do this using a combination of self-help pages and contact help channels. Venidress does likewise. For self-help, there are support articles you’ll find in its site. There is the popular FAQ section, which holds answers to many of the questions that customers have asked in the past; and there are other articles about policies (including shipping, returns, payment method, and terms).
To directly contact the Customer Support rep, Venidress supports email service and telephone service. You can send Venidress a mail directly from your regular email account using the email address: support@venidress.zendesk.com.
However, as we know, it is not enough that email service is supported; the time it takes to get a response to your email support submission is also very important. In this regards, Venidress promises a response within 48 hours. However, as we’ll see in the complaints section, getting a response from Venidress within 48 hours is an exception rather than the norm.
That said; it’s good that the instant feedback support of telephone service is supported. You can use the service by putting your calls through to +44020 3286 6639. In its “contact us” page, Venidress also says there is Live Chat. However, when writing this review, we found nothing like a Live Chat feature.
The complaints section is always an important part of our surveys. This is because what real customers of an online store have to say about gives valuable insight into how well it operates. That is, too many complaints may suggest that the store is not worthwhile, while few complaints may suggest that it is worthwhile.
For this section, we checked the top independent customers’ reviews platforms such as Trustpilot and Sitejabber. Unfortunately, Venidress is not highly rated. In fact, it is one of the lowest-rated online fashion stores you’ll find. For example, at the time of writing this review, in Trustpilot Venidress was rated 1.0 out of 5; and in Sitejabber, it was rated 1.0 out of 5. Know that reviewers are required to give at least a rating of 1 (out of 5) in order to leave a review in this platforms, so the 1 average rating that Venidress had is synonymous to zero.
You’ll hardly find any positive reviews of Venidress, as the review platforms were overrun with complaints. We compress these complaints as follows:

That said, many times when customers press to receive a return address to ship back the unwanted item, they only end up losing more money on return shipping.
It should be said that this issue of “difficulty with return and refunds” is one reason Venidress is labelled a scam in the online platforms. Even if a store has quality issues, if customers can easily process returns and get refunded, the disappointment will be tempered. However, where shoddy quality items are received, and “returns and refund” is impossible, because the item cannot be used, the customers being out of pocket will easily throw the scam label around.
It’s already said that Venidress support service receives a lot of submissions. Unfortunately, customers complain of not getting the needed whatsoever. It can be argued that customer support is limited by the company’s policies. However, many of the reviews show basic customer support failures such as not responding to support requests.

In terms of service, the only things there are to like about Venidress is its pricing and shipping. You’ll find its prices relatively low. In terms of shipping, it ships products worldwide and offers free shipping to all locations with a relatively low minimum order requirement. US and Canada customers will even get free shipping for all orders.
However, orders may arrive later than expected, and the quality is almost always poor. Worst still, though a “good 30-days return policy” is advertised, returning a Venidress’ item and getting a refund is almost always nigh-impossible.
That said, to the question of whether you should shop in Venidress, our answer will be “Yes, if you want a dress, and will be ready to keep whatever is sent to you like your order”. If you want anything other than a dress, the selection of Venidress does not make it the ideal destination. If you’ll want to be able to return an unsatisfactory item, the Venidress is also not the ideal destination. You’re very likely going to receive delivery of an unsatisfactory product, and you’ll almost definitely not be able to get your money back.
